Drone escapes the owner and crashes into the Doge’s Palace

VENICE – Intervention tonight, May 23, by the fire brigade inside Ducal Palace, in Venice, to recover a drone, which escaped the owner’s control, ended up in the historic building in Piazza San Marco. The firefighters, who arrived around 9 pm, hoisted themselves with a hook ladder near the “Porta della carta”, the main entrance of the building, bordering the Basilica of San Marco, and recovered the drone, which seems not caused damage to the structure. It will now be up to the local police, to which the aircraft was delivered, to track down the owner, who will certainly be fined, given that the use of drones is subject to strict rules and is prohibited in the historic center of the lagoon.
